These small, round and crunchy oven-baked chickpeas are just the perfect savory snack solution! Doesn’t matter if you use black pepper, chili and paprika powder, salt and garlic or turmeric and curry; each and every flavor combination has its own charm to it!

Made with just 3 basic ingredients, plus your own favorite spices, these little beans are definitely one of the best toppings for salads, sandwiches, bowls or just as a go-to snack on their own! They’ll need a little time in the oven though, so you better get going!

Ingredients:

  • 1 jar or can of chickpeas (about 220-240g)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • a pinch of salt

  • Spices to taste (e.g. paprika powder, chili, turmeric, garlic, black pepper, curry powder, fries seasoning,..)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C.

  2. Drain the water from the can of chickpeas and rinse the beans under some water. Then transfer them to a clean kitchen towel and pat them dry. (You can optionally peel off the thin skin from the chickpeas, which will start to come off anyway while patting them dry in the kitchen towel. Peeling the beans will make them easier to digest and also helps make them even more crispy!)

  3. Transfer the dried chickpeas to a bowl, add olive oil and salt and mix well.

  4. Line a baking tray with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat, spread the chickpeas onto the tray and bake them for about 30-40mins until crispy.

  5. Lastly season the chickpeas with your favorite spices while they’re still hot and serve fresh and crispy right away!
